Discover Sailing Days are offered at many participating sailing clubs around Australia, including Kettering Yacht Club. They are a fantastic way to have a great day out with your partner, friends, work colleagues or family. We look forward to showing you just how fun, safe, accessible, and affordable sailing is. This year the Kettering Yacht Club will hold a Discover Sailing Day on Sunday 17th of March from 10:30am.

Discover Sailing Days are free to attend and all boats and safety equipment is provided by the club. All you need to bring is:

• Yourself & a Friend
• Clothes and Shoes you don't mind getting wet - shoes with non-marking soles are preferred.
• Hat, sunscreen and a water bottle

The schedule for the day is as follows:

• A short briefing will commence with a touch of theory, followed by allocation of boats for a sail in the channel.
• There will be a barbeque put on after sailing for all participants

You’ll have the option to go out for a short sail with an experienced sailor, have a look around the club facilities, and find out about the programs and sailing courses available. There is something for the whole family and even kids as young as five years old can sail, when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Every club that offers Discover Sailing Days has a Discover Sailing Host, who welcomes you to the club, answers any questions, and explains the activities taking place during the Discover Sailing Day.

Ever wondered what it’s like to go sailing? Join us for a Discover Sailing Day and experience the thrill of being on the water while exploring your local sailing club.

• No experience needed – just bring your sense of adventure
• Perfect for families, friends, and anyone curious about sailing
• Friendly club members will be there to welcome you and answer questions

Prerequisite: For safety reasons, participants must be confident in and around the water.

By the end of the day, you’ll have:

• Experienced sailing firsthand
• Discovered the fun and community spirit of your local club
• Learned about exciting courses, activities, and ways to keep sailing
