Races are held Fortnightly every Sunday morning over the winter period ( late May through to late July )
They are spinaker allowed events.

There are currently three divisions
- Div 1 : Faster Yachts starting at 09:30
- Div 2 : More comfortable yachts starting at 109:35
- Derwent Class : starting at 09:40 if five or more yachts otherwise start with Div 2
The course is set by the race officers on the day and communicated on channel 73 shortly around 17:50
The course starts off Little Oyster Cove and never crosses the Ferry path. It may be either a little to the North or to South of the Ferry Path and is most often to the windward side. Just look for yachts milling around and of course the committee boat, Uncle Robin, which forms one end of the start line.
Each competing yacht must:
Competing Kettering Yacht Club yachts must be entered in the current KYC Racing Season
Non Kettering Yacht Club yachts are also invited to participate in a few races without charge but must:
- hold a current registration with Sailing Australia
- be able to provide a Certificte of Currency and a Cat 7 or better ( preferably registered on Sail Sys )
- contact the Race Officials on channel 73 comfortably before race commencment to identifiy themselves and their division
