The Derwent Class Association is inviting sailing clubs to enter a team of three sailors in the Derwent Class Mythos Invitational, celebrating the fleet’s 100th anniversary.

• Date: Saturday, 1 May 2027
• Location: Kettering, Tasmania
• Host: Kettering Yacht Club, with support from Derwent Sailing Squadron
• Format: Teams will race aboard Derwent Class yachts, with the boat owner or delegate in command. Team members may crew and potentially helm where appropriate.
• Team selection: Each club can choose its three sailors however it wishes—through expressions of interest, open selection, hand-picking, or choosing sailors with a connection to the Derwent Class.
• Focus: Safe, friendly and enjoyable racing, with camaraderie and celebration prioritised over competitiveness.
• Before the event: Teams will have opportunities to meet boat owners and coordinate preparation.
• After racing: An evening celebration will be held at Kettering Yacht Club.
• Cost: A small entry fee will apply, and each crew member must join the Derwent Class Association for $20.
• Immediate action: Clubs are being asked to register their interest with one team entry. Further details and final team arrangements will be confirmed in early 2027.
