3 Pubs Pursuit Race - Course Instructions

KYC 3 Pubs Pursuit Race - 19th November 2023

Start times for each boat will be published on the KYC website and KYC clubrooms notice board no later than 18th November (Update: Start Times). 

The race will start in Little Oyster Cove. The start line will be an imaginary line between Kettering Point and Oyster Cove Point. There will not be a start boat. Competitors are reminded to keep clear of the Bruny Island Ferry at all times.

Competitors will be required to pass through the start line after their allocated start time.

After passing through the start line, competitors must either:
a) proceed to Woodbridge Jetty first and Snug Beach second, or
b) proceed to Snug Beach first and Woodbridge Jetty second.

When at Woodbridge, competitors must send at least one crew member to the Peppermint Bay bar to purchase one drink or snack.

When at Snug, competitors must send at least one crew member to the Snug Tavern to purchase one drink or snack.

Use of an engine is permitted within 500m of Woodbridge Jetty or 500m of Snug Beach.
Use of a tender is permitted within 500m of Woodbridge Jetty or 500m of Snug Beach. Swimming is also permitted.

After completing both the Woodbridge and Snug legs, competitors are required to return to Kettering and send at least one crew member to the KYC clubrooms to purchase one drink or snack.

The winning boat will be the first to have a crew member arrive at the KYC clubrooms after correctly completing the rest of the course.

Use of an engine is permitted west of the port lateral mark at the entrance to Little Oyster Cove.

The attention of all persons is drawn to the requirement to be aware of the application of the Marine Safety (Misuse of Alcohol) Act, 2006.
